In the Ulytau region, a civil servant was dismissed for violating anti-corruption legislation.

According to the regional prosecutor's office, a chief specialist of the Satpayev city akimat systematically violated anti-corruption restrictions by participating in gambling.

According to information provided by the bookmaker companies '1XBET' and 'OLIMPBET', he placed bets totalling around 16 million tenge.

Following the review of a prosecutor's oversight report, the civil servant was dismissed from his post.

"According to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan 'On Combating Corruption', civil servants are obliged to comply with a number of anti-corruption restrictions, including the ban on participating in gambling and betting conducted using telecommunication networks and internet resources," the department concluded.

It will be recalled that in March, an employee of the State Revenue Department of the Mangystau region was removed from office for placing bets with a bookmaker.
