Emergency repair work on power grids has been completed in Karazhal. As reported by the Akimat of the Ulytau region, electricity supply has been fully restored to all 385 subscribers, including social facilities.

According to the Kazinform International News Agency, specialists carried out diagnostics on the equipment and identified faults at transformer substations, as well as damage to underground cable lines, after which the accident was resolved.

During the inspection, it was established that transformer substation TP-9 on Baesh Batyr Street, which supplied electricity to 46 subscribers and one social institution — a branch of Kazpost — has been deemed unfit for further operation.

Furthermore, a short circuit was recorded on the underground line TP-38 on B. Suleimenov Street, from which another nine subscribers received their electricity supply.

City enterprises were brought in to deal with the aftermath of the accident, including Qarmet company, JSC ZGOK, LLP Karazhal Operating, LLP Orda Group, the State Utility Company "City Municipal Services of the Akimat of Karazhal", and the State Utility Company "Zhairem Bolashak". 12 electricians were involved in the work, employing four units of special equipment and five cars. An operational group was on site coordinating the restoration efforts.

Bergentai Iskakov, an employee of the Qarmet company who took part in resolving the accident, spoke about the progress of the work.

"Nine transformers failed. After the management's appeal, I joined the repair team the very next morning. First, we disconnected all the transformers, then checked the 6 kV line, monitored the condition of the insulation, and replaced the failed elements. After that, we began connecting the transformers stage by stage, block by block," he explained.

According to the specialist, the main cause of the accident was equipment overload during the winter peak consumption period.

"In winter, electricity consumption increases significantly, and the lines and transformers are already worn out. The fuses could not withstand the load — hence the accident," noted Iskakov.

It will be recalled that earlier, residents of Karazhal were without electricity and heating for almost two days after an accident on power lines. On social networks, residents posted videos and photographs. According to them, they were forced to sleep in their outer clothing under several blankets and use whatever means they could to keep warm.
