In Saryagash, a car crashed into a pipe and left local residents without gas.

According to the press service of JSC 'QazaqGaz Aimaq', an emergency team arrived at the scene and contained the gas leak.

'Specialists established that the accident was caused by a BMW vehicle hitting an elevated high-pressure gas pipeline. As a result of the vehicle colliding with it, a complete rupture of the gas pipeline occurred in two places, as well as deformation of more than 40 linear metres of the gas pipeline', the statement said.

As a result of the accident, the following were left without gas supply:

  • 21 industrial enterprises;
  • 153 municipal and domestic enterprises;
  • 6,821 private sector subscribers.

'Repair and restoration work began immediately. Seven teams are deployed on site, including more than 40 employees of the emergency restoration service of JSC 'QazaqGaz Aimaq'', the statement said.

Gas supply was first restored to hospitals, clinics, schools, kindergartens and the local police station.

'Given the late night time, as well as the need to carry out gas-hazardous work during daylight hours, large-scale work on reconnecting the private sector and enterprises began at 9:00 am. It is expected that gas supply will be fully restored by 1:00 pm on 11 December 2024', the company reported.

Recall that in October in the West Kazakhstan Region, a tractor damaged an underground polyethylene gas pipeline, leaving a number of villages and garden cooperatives without gas supply. It was noted that the gas pipeline was on the balance sheet of JSC 'QazaqGaz Aimaq'.
