Information has been spreading online that on the night of 8 May, the body of a prosecutor was found in the village of Terekty, Terektinsky District, West Kazakhstan Region.
According to Cmn.kz, the tragedy occurred in the yard of a house on Sunkar Street. It is reported that Lieutenant Colonel of Justice Galimbek Mukhitov, born in 1983, took his own life.
Meanwhile, the prosecutor's office of the West Kazakhstan Region confirmed this information.
"On 08.05.2025, an employee of the district prosecutor's office committed suicide in the yard of a house. This fact has been registered in the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations," the statement said.
The department noted that the investigation is being carried out by the regional police department.
"The regional prosecutor's office expresses its condolences in connection with the incident," the department concluded.
