It is reported that the deceased contracted soldier, born in 1985, served in one of the military units of the Aktau garrison.
According to ORDA, the body was found in the apartment where he lived. It is noted that the serviceman had been on parental leave for about a year.
"According to preliminary information, the contracted soldier committed suicide due to a family and domestic conflict. The reasons and circumstances are being clarified, and a criminal case has been opened," the report says.
Recall that against the backdrop of increasingly frequent tragic incidents in the army, concerned citizens of Kazakhstan have created a petition to abolish compulsory military service. The authors believe that the abolition of conscription in Kazakhstan is becoming urgent due to the deaths of servicemen in peacetime. Just in September, we wrote about four such incidents.
On 7 September, in a military unit in Aktau, a conscript soldier died from a gunshot wound to the head. On 13 September, at the Military Institute of Ground Forces in Almaty, a sergeant committed suicide. On 16 September, in Arys, a contracted serviceman from one of the military units received a head wound from a traumatic weapon. On 19 September, an officer from one of the military units of the Ayagoz garrison committed suicide by hanging.
Meanwhile, the editorial board of FBRK sought to find out how many people have died in recent years 'while serving their duty to the Motherland' today. We sent an official request to the Ministry of Defence asking them to provide data on the number of deaths in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The department's response can be viewed via the link.
