The Anti-Corruption Service for the West Kazakhstan Region has completed a pre-trial investigation into the director of the State Institution "Centre for the Resocialisation of Persons in Difficult Life Situations of the Department of Employment and Social Programmes of Uralsk".
According to the press service of the agency, he is suspected of embezzling budget funds totalling 11.5 million tenge.
It is reported that he signed fictitious certificates of completed work for the repair of electrical equipment and paid salaries to individuals not employed by the State Institution. The accused has now been committed for trial.
Earlier, the Pavlodar Prosecutor's Office uncovered instances of illegal charging of fees by the management of one rehabilitation centre for the provision of social services to persons with disabilities. It was reported that the institution is funded from the local budget.
