The director general of a state enterprise has been convicted of corruption and fraud.

The Interdistrict Criminal Court of Shymkent has announced a verdict against the general director of the branch of the State Enterprise "Disinfection Centre for the Turkestan Region", K. Töregeldiev, and the head of a private company, D. Ozykbaev. 

According to the press service of Anticor, Töregeldiev was found guilty of fraud, incitement to bribery, and negligence, while Ozykbaev was found guilty of attempted bribery. 

It is reported that Töregeldiev, under the pretext of giving a bribe to officials for a favourable resolution of an audit issue, fraudulently obtained 500,000 tenge from Ozykbaev. 

Töregeldiev also signed certificates of completion for work that was not actually carried out. The damage to the state is estimated at 2.2 million tenge. 

As a result, the court sentenced Töregeldiev to 3 years in prison, and Ozykbaev to a fine of 7.5 million tenge. In addition, they have been banned from holding civil service positions for life. 

Earlier, public figure and executive director of the public association "Adildik Zholy", Didar Smagulov, revealed that the Disinfection Centre for the Turkestan Region was purchasing pesticides at a price inflated threefold. The overpayment amounted to 205,294,556 tenge.
