The director of the finance department and the chief specialist of NC Prodkorporatsiya JSC have been convicted in Astana.
According to the press service of Antikor, the inter-district criminal court of Astana issued a ruling regarding the director of the finance department of NC Prodkorporatsiya JSC, N.G. Zhumadilov, and the chief specialist, G.Zh. Abenov.
They were suspected of taking a bribe from an entrepreneur for services rendered in gathering documents, as well as for facilitating the signing of an agreement for the provision of a commodity loan (grain).
As a result, the court sentenced the accused to a fine totalling 48 million tenge, with a lifelong ban on holding positions in the civil service within quasi-public sector entities.
In turn, the city prosecutor's office has filed an appeal against the verdict, requesting that the sentence be changed to imprisonment.
"In accordance with Article 41 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, if the fine is not paid within the established time limits, the sentence is replaced with imprisonment. The verdict has not yet entered into legal force," the statement reads.
