Mazhilis deputy Marat Bashimov has called on the Supreme Audit Chamber (SAC) to publish the results of audits for 2022-2024.
According to Informburo.kz, these have not been published on the department's website since 2022. Bashimov stated that the last audit opinion was made public on 11 August 2022.
The Mazhilis member cited the example of Nazarbayev University, where in December 2024 information emerged about the inefficient expenditure of 73 billion tenge. The full audit results were not published, although the university's management publicly commented on the findings of the inspection.
"An interesting logic from the auditors: the money is state money, the activity is socially important, but it is somehow classified", Bashimov declared.
In the deputy's opinion, issues of education, healthcare and the social sphere should be open to the public.
"All over the world, budget reports are open and transparent. Therefore, based on the above, we ask the Supreme Audit Chamber to immediately publish the results of audits for 2022-2024, and to ensure strict compliance with constitutional norms on the transparency of the budget process and audit control", Bashimov concluded.
