Deputy of the Mazhilis Unzila Shapak reported at a meeting of the committee on legislation and judicial and legal reform that the amount of stolen funds and loans taken out in citizens' names in 2023 amounted to 21 billion tenge.
According to ‘QOS live’, this refers only to fraudulent actions by individuals posing as employees of law enforcement agencies or banks, who under various pretexts offered quick profits within a short period of time.
As Deputy Shapak stated, in Kazakhstan in 2023, more than 21,000 such crimes were registered.
Recall that earlier in the Akmola Region, fake police officers stole money from the card of a 66-year-old resident, taking out a commodity loan in his name. The man lost more than 3 million tenge.
It was also reported that bailiffs and employees of collection agencies in Aktobe pretended to be judges and police officers with the aim of collecting debts. They called people and introduced themselves as employees of law enforcement agencies and the prosecutor's office, as well as judges or court secretaries.
