The court of the Alakol district of the Zhetysu region found the deputy akim of the district guilty of abuse of official powers during the construction and reconstruction of power grids. According to the charges, certificates were signed for work not carried out, which resulted in the transfer of more than 189 million tenge in budget funds. The official was sentenced to 5 years' imprisonment.

WHAT THE COURT ESTABLISHED

According to the case materials, during the construction and reconstruction of power grids in the village of Arkarly, Alakol district, the deputy akim, abusing his official powers, signed certificates for work that was not actually carried out.

This, as stated in the court's decision, resulted in the illegal transfer of budget funds totalling over 189 million tenge.
