Residents of the town of Alga in the Aktobe region have reported an unusual discovery — a new satin-lined coffin was found at a residential waste disposal site.
According to the Telegram channel «Halyqstan», the coffin may have been thrown out as part of a spring clean-up campaign.

News of the incident has spread on social media and sparked public outrage. Users are putting forward various theories, ranging from everyday carelessness to a disrespect for traditions.
“They could have attached a note with an explanation or handed the coffin over to a funeral agency”, residents wrote.
It has been reported that a two-month campaign for the sanitary clean-up of territories is underway in the region until 1 June. As part of this, local solid waste landfills are accepting bulky waste from the public free of charge.
According to the press service of the Aktobe region police, discarding funeral items, including coffins, at waste disposal sites is extremely rare in the region.
“For the most part, people throw bulky waste like furniture, refrigerators, sanitary ware, and leftover construction materials onto waste sites”, the department clarified.
It is worth recalling that earlier, in the capital’s Saryarka district, just a few kilometres from government buildings, a large illegal landfill was discovered. The FBRK editorial team found that a plot officially designated for the construction of an apartment building was being used for dumping construction waste, tyres, and household rubbish.
Tracks from heavy machinery, fresh piles of rubbish, and the active use of the site all indicate that the landfill is operating systematically. Read more details at the link.
