In Pavlodar, a carer at the regional children's psychoneurological centre for providing special social services abused children with disabilities.

According to the regional prosecutor's office, the facts of the mistreatment came to light thanks to footage from CCTV cameras.

It is reported that the footage shows the centre's employee repeatedly beating underage wards.

It is noted that these are children with psychoneurological conditions, who, due to their state of health, are in a helpless condition and require constant care.

"Based on signs of child abuse, a pre-trial investigation has been launched against the centre's employees under Article 110 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and has been assigned to the police department," the statement says.

It will be recalled that at the end of August, a video appeared online showing a man at the Kostanay Children's Centre for Providing Special Social Services kicking a child and using a stick to force him along a treadmill.

The Department for the Coordination of Employment and Social Services stated that it had taken appropriate measures and punished those responsible.
