Experts from the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) have revealed that a private clinic in Astana, by unlawfully registering 16,000 citizens, received more than 100 million tenge.
According to the press service of the Fund, out of the 16,000 pseudo-patients, around 13,000 are children. All individuals were registered without their knowledge. For each of them, the clinic received nearly 1,800 tenge per month from the state.
Individuals who had left the country for permanent or temporary residence were assigned to this facility. Furthermore, the Fund discovered that the clinic was 'providing' medical services to children whose dates of death were recorded 5-10 years ago.
"As a result, the capital's clinic 'registered' over 33,000 services totalling more than 100 million tenge. Materials regarding this fact have been transferred to law enforcement agencies," the statement says.
Currently, a court hearing is underway in the Specialised Economic Court of Astana between the SHIF and the capital's clinic concerning the return of the illegally obtained sum.
Whether those who used 'dead souls' for financial gain will be punished remains unknown to us.
