The candidacy of Aida Balayeva for the post of Deputy Prime Minister — Minister of Culture and Information was approved at a meeting of the Mazhilis Committee on Social and Cultural Development.
“By decree of the Head of State, Aida Galymovna Balayeva has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the Akorda press service reported.
Balayeva began working in the Presidential Administration (PA) in 2014, heading the department of domestic policy. In 2019, she became an assistant to the President and head of the department for monitoring the handling of appeals in the PA.
In 2020, she was appointed Minister of Information and Social Development. In 2022, Balayeva received the post of Deputy Head of the PA.
On 2 September 2023, by presidential decree, she took over the Ministry of Culture and Information.
In addition, according to Forbes.kz, Aida Balayeva is the chairperson of the National Commission for Women's Affairs and Family-Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, secretary of the National Kurultai under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and a member of the board of directors of KazteleRadio JSC (the national television and radio broadcasting operator).
