Following the elections of 23 August 2026, five parties shared 145 deputy mandates in the first-convocation Kurultai. The majority of seats went to the «Әділет» party — 110 mandates.
HOW THE MANDATES WERE DISTRIBUTED
Seats in the new unicameral parliament were distributed among five parties:
- «Әділет» — 110 mandates;
- «Ауыл» — 10 mandates;
- Respublica — 9 mandates;
- «Ак жол» — 8 mandates;
- ОСДП — 8 mandates.
WHO MADE IT IN FROM «ӘДІЛЕТ»
The «Әділет» party approved a list of 110 candidates who received deputy mandates. Among the most well-known figures are the party chair and former head of the Presidential Administration Aibek Dadebai, former education minister Askhat Aimagambetov, former prosecutor Aizhan Aimaganova, and VIII-convocation Mazhilis deputy Aidos Sarym.
The list also includes former chair of the Supreme Audit Chamber (SAC) Natalya Godunova, former head of the freedom of speech protection fund «Әділ сөз» Karlygash Dzhamankulova, children's rights ombudsman Dinara Zakiyeva, VIII-convocation Mazhilis deputy Sergei Ponomaryov, and political scientist Marat Shibutov.
A mandate was also given to Dana Medeуова, whom the media refer to as a niece of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
WHO WAS NOT ON THE «ӘДІЛЕТ» LIST
Several notable candidates were absent from the approved list. Among them are Erlan Karin, Bagdat Musin, and education minister Zhuldyz Suleimenova.
Also not receiving mandates were journalist Adil Baltabaev, chairman of the board of directors of Qarmet Andrei Lavrentyev, and president of the international society «Қазақ тілі» Rauan Kenzhekhanuly.
WHO MADE IT IN FROM «АУЫЛ»
The «Ауыл» party received 10 mandates. Among its deputies are party chair Kairat Aituganov, first deputy chair of the party and VIII-convocation Mazhilis deputy Serik Egizbaev, biotechnologist Vladimir Kiyan, and professor of the Kazakh National Agrarian Research University Almas Mukhametov.
Also entering the Kurultai from the party are Shakhmardan Baimanov, Zakhira Begaliyeva, Murat Irgibaev, Azhар Kazhibekova, Dinara Raikhanova, and Rabiga Tokseitova.
WHO MADE IT IN FROM RESPUBLICA
The Respublica party distributed 9 mandates. Among the deputies are party chair Aidarbek Khojanazarov, deputy chair of the party Olzhas Kuspekov, as well as VIII-convocation Mazhilis deputies Dinara Naumova, Yekaterina Smolyakova, and Nurgul Tau.
The list also includes Bekzhan Aitkulov, Ruslan Idrisov, Meirkhat Kasymbaev, and Makhambet Khasenov.
WHO MADE IT IN FROM «АК ЖОЛ»
The Democratic Party of Kazakhstan «Ак жол» received 8 mandates. Among its representatives are party chair and VIII-convocation Mazhilis deputy Daniya Yespaeva, as well as VIII-convocation Mazhilis deputy Olzhas Nuraldinov.
The remaining mandates went to Dauren Akhmetzhaev, Baktybek Bibaev, Asylkhan Kozhakhmetov, Yuri Li, Meirash Shynasilova, and Ermekkali Yusupov.
WHO MADE IT IN FROM ОСДП
The Nationwide Social Democratic Party (ОСДП) received 8 mandates. The party will be represented in the Kurultai by its chair and VIII-convocation Mazhilis deputy Askhat Rakhimzhanov, as well as VIII-convocation Mazhilis deputies Nauryz Sailaubai and Azhар Sagandykova.
The faction also includes Maksut Nasibulov, Nurainash Kamalova, Larisa Li, Aslan Kulmagambetov и Arman Akylbai.
WHEN THE FIRST SESSION WILL TAKE PLACE
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has convened the first session of the Kurultai for 28 August 2026. The new unicameral parliament will begin work with 145 deputies, representing five political parties.
