Aviation training centre sells off special-purpose aircraft

Submitted by Вера Александрова on

The Aviation Training Centre has put up for auction 4 aircraft of the brand "TL-2000 Sting Carbon S4" for a total of more than 100 million tenge. According to the Electronic Trading Platform, the auctions are scheduled for 13 February 2024. The aircraft are located at: Akmola Region, Shortandy District, Zholaman airfield.

The starting price for the aircraft with registration number UP-LA220 was 36.3 million tenge. The price of aircraft UP-LA166 starts at 22.9 million tenge, and aircraft UP-LA161 starts at 21.5 million tenge. The aircraft with registration number UP-LA159 turned out to be comparatively inexpensive. Its starting price is 19.4 million tenge. The auctions are conducted on an ascending price basis.

It can be assumed that the Aviation Training Centre is selling off outdated equipment that has reached the end of its service life. However, two of the four aircraft - UP-LA166 and UP-LA161 - are still fit for use.

Who ends up getting their hands on all this aircraft equipment is a mystery. The regulations for auction participants are not provided on the Electronic Trading Platform website.

Recall, we previously reported that RGU "Qazarnauylexport (Kazspetsexport)" of the State Defence Order Committee of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan conducted auctions for specialised equipment and machinery. In particular, bulletproof vests, sapper kits, and MiG aircraft were put up for sale.

At that time, only legal entities that provided the necessary list of documents could participate in the auctions.

However, even with the verification of potential buyers, one cannot help but think about the risks that such sales entail.

Moreover, the list of weapons permitted in Kazakhstan is very limited. For self-defence purposes, citizens are only allowed to use gas pistols and revolvers, mechanical sprayers, aerosol devices, as well as electric weapons.
