The Chairman of the Supreme Audit Chamber (SAC) Alikhan Smailov presented the results of the body's activities for the second quarter of this year to the head of state.

According to the press service of the government, auditors checked the transport sector, the budgets of the Abai, Zhetysu, Ulytau and Almaty regions, as well as the sphere of providing Kazakh citizens with medicines.

It is reported that as a result of the audit of 73 facilities and expenditures exceeding 2.9 trillion tenge, the body's employees identified financial violations worth more than 39 billion tenge

At the same time, the head of the SAC reported on the audit activities planned for the second half of this year.

According to him, they will affect the activities of Nazarbayev University, JSC NC KazMunayGas, the judicial system, as well as certain areas in agriculture, manufacturing, and construction.

Incidentally, in June, the Minister of Science Sayasat Nurbek stated that the SAC is conducting an audit of Nazarbayev University. It was expected that after the inspection, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education would adjust the university's strategy. It was also reported at the time that a meeting on the audit results was planned for the end of summer.

Recall that earlier, the SAC held the National Accreditation Centre (NAC) administratively liable. It emerged that the Centre provided a number of services at self-determined prices, rather than those approved by the supervising state body. As a result, the NAC was brought to administrative liability with a fine imposed.

In July, the SAC reviewed the results of the state audit of the effectiveness of NJSC Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) for 2022-2023. The audit covered funds and assets totalling 3.8 trillion tenge and involved 13 organisations

Its results established: procedural violations worth more than 32 billion tenge, as well as ineffective planning and use of funds amounting to 31.1 billion tenge. The total financial losses and lost profits amounted to 11.8 million tenge
