The Supreme Audit Chamber (SAC) has audited the budgets of ‘Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools’ (NIS) in four regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the effectiveness of the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF), the tax and customs systems.
‘In the 2nd quarter of 2024, the Supreme Audit Chamber of the Republic of Kazakhstan will complete audit activities in the areas of transport, tax and customs administration, regarding republican budget reporting, as well as on specific issues of education and healthcare’, the press service of the department reports.
It is reported that audits of the budgets for 2022-2023 were carried out in the regions of Abai, Zhetysu, Ulytau and the Almaty Region. Additionally, an assessment of activities is planned for NJSC ‘SHIF’ and the Audit Commission for Almaty.
‘Alongside this, the SAC of the Republic of Kazakhstan is completing an audit of the effectiveness of the use of budgetary funds allocated to the autonomous educational organisation ‘Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools’ in 2019-2023. In particular, the audit analysed the influence of NIS on the development of the republic’s secondary education system’, the statement says.
At the same time, it was announced that the main stage of the audit activity in the field of medicines and medical devices circulation had been completed.
‘Based on the results, an assessment will be given of the effectiveness of pricing regulation, the development of the domestic pharmaceutical industry, as well as the procurement procedures of the single distributor, LLP ‘SK-Pharmacy’’, the department stated.
In addition, the SAC plans to assess ‘the effectiveness of measures to reduce discrepancies in ‘mirror statistics’ with China, the effectiveness of automated desk control on corporate income tax, the completeness of measures to increase tax revenues to the state budget, etc.’.
Recall, earlier the director of ‘Zertteu Research Institute’ Sholpan Aitenova told journalists in an interview that during the discussion of the draft new Budget Code, issues regarding the abolition of special funding for NIS and Nazarbayev University were considered.
