The trial of the former wife of Kairat Satybaldy - Gulmira - continues in Almaty. The victims - the Zhunusov brothers – Abai, Altai, and Kassym - are seeking to recover material and moral damages from Gulmira Satybaldy and her driver Madi Batyrshayev

The prosecution believes the brothers lost their business and property due to them. Incidentally, Abai Zhunusov is the former son-in-law of Gulmira Satybaldy

According to Bes.media, the indictment states that the material damage caused to the victims amounts to 1.2 billion tenge. However, the Zhunusov brothers have filed a civil lawsuit seeking to recover 10.9 billion tenge from the defendants.

  • Abai Zhunusov is seeking compensation from Gulmira Satybaldy and Madi Batyrshayev for material damage in the amount of 2.6 billion tenge, and for moral damages 7.8 billion tenge

  • Altai Zhunusov is seeking compensation for material damage in the amount of 109 million tenge, and for moral damages 100 million tenge

  • Kassym Zhunusov is seeking compensation for material damage in the amount of 233 million tenge, and for moral damages 100 million tenge

In turn, Gulmira Satybaldy and Madi Batyrshayev did not admit the civil lawsuit.

"Your Honour, I think this has nothing to do with me at all. I do not admit it", commented Madi Batyrshayev.

It will be recalled that the charges of illegal imprisonment, extortion and arbitrariness became known last year in court shortly before the pronouncement of the sentence on Gulmira Satybaldy, who was ultimately sentenced to 8 years in prison for misappropriation of another's property and embezzlement.
