The Environmental Prosecutor's Office of the Akmola Region has identified an overestimation of the volumes of forest allocated for felling by forestry enterprises and national parks in the region.
"To eliminate the identified violations of the law, an act of prosecutorial supervision was submitted to the Akmola Regional Territorial Inspectorate of Forestry and Wildlife. As a result of its review, out of the declared 108.9 thousand cubic metres of forest submitted for felling by 16 forestry enterprises and national parks, 46 or more than 50 thousand cubic metres were excluded.", the press service of the agency reports.
The head of the inspectorate's department was brought to disciplinary responsibility. As a result, the prosecutor's office ensured the rational use and conservation of more than 420 hectares of forest. It is worth recalling that in 2023, more than 16 thousand raids were carried out on the territory of the country's state forest fund, as a result of which 220 cases of illegal logging were identified. The violators stole 6 thousand cubic metres of wood.
