17 billion not allowed to be wasted by government agencies since the start of the year

A meeting was held at the Anti-Corruption Service on issues of monitoring the distribution of budget funds for flood relief. 

According to the press service of the agency, Anti-Corruption continues its work on monitoring public procurement, the efficient spending of budget funds, as well as the implementation of "money tagging" via "digital tenge".

"In the past period, the anti-corruption service bodies conducted 69 analyses and monitoring exercises, and issued 565 recommendations and proposals to eliminate corruption risks <…> The irrational use of funds totalling more than 17 billion tenge was prevented", the statement said.

The agency's leadership also instructed that issues regarding the implementation of the corruption risk map in the regions, business problems within the framework of the "Bizneske zhol" project, and other matters be reviewed. It is reported that since the start of the year, Anti-Corruption has protected the rights of nearly 5,000 entrepreneurs in 43 problematic cases

Furthermore, it became known that this year Anti-Corruption registered 488 criminal offences. It exposed 296 individuals in committing corruption. For completed criminal cases, more than 188 billion tenge in damages were recovered.
