The government has allocated around 16 billion tenge from the reserve for the reconstruction and major repair of heat sources in Kentau, Ridder and Kyzylorda. The corresponding decree was signed by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.
According to the government press service, more than 9 billion tenge was allocated for the reconstruction of boilers at CHP-5 in Kentau. Some 4.9 billion tenge was set aside for major repairs of equipment and infrastructure at the Ridder CHP plant. Over 2 billion tenge was earmarked for the reconstruction of three steam boilers at the southern boiler house in Kyzylorda.
It was also announced that, as part of preparations for the 2024 heating season, repairs are planned for 10 power units, 55 boilers and 45 turbines in Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Atyrau, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Karaganda, Aktau, Taraz, Petropavlovsk, Pavlodar, Zhezkazgan, Aktobe, Ekibastuz, Stepnogorsk, Rudny, Balkhash and Aksu.
"Also, under investment agreements, work is underway to restore power unit No. 1 at the Ekibastuz GRES-1 and replace turbine units at the Atyrau CHP and Topar GRES. In addition, projects are planned for the construction of power unit No. 3 at the Ekibastuz GRES, as well as the expansion of the Ust-Kamenogorsk CHP and Karaganda CHP-3", the government stated.
It was also reported that the implementation of all these projects will allow for the commissioning of new capacity exceeding 1500 MW.
