1.4 million paid by tourists for a campfire in a national park

In Almaty, tourists paid a fine of 1.4 million tenge for violating fire safety requirements. 

According to ORDA, four offenders were fined for lighting a fire in the Ile-Alatau National Nature Park.

"A 30-year-old man and his company lit a fire to cook shashlik in an area not designated for this purpose", reported the city's Emergency Situations Department.

This offence carries a fine of 100 MCI (369,200 tenge) for individuals and 250 MCI (923,000 tenge) for legal entities. 

Recall that earlier it was reported that a 22-year-old female student from the Ordabasy district of the Turkestan region could be fined 11 million tenge for picking Greig's tulips, which are listed in the Red Book.
