11 years for corruption was given to the deputy district akim in Shymkent

In Shymkent, the deputy head of the Enbekshinsky District, the chief specialist of the same district administration, and a representative of a contracting organisation have been convicted. 

They were found guilty of receiving a bribe of 60 million tenge from an entrepreneur in exchange for patronage during city improvement works. They were also accused of embezzling 28 million tenge of budget funds allocated for the maintenance of cemeteries. 

As a result, the specialised inter-district criminal court of Shymkent sentenced the deputy head Y. Tlenshin to 11 years in prison, the district administration specialist A. Balkybekov received 10 years, and the contractor A. Manat received 3 years of imprisonment. The verdict was announced in the presence of the convicts' former colleagues. 

The former district administration employees were also permanently banned from holding positions in the civil service.
