Almost a tonne of fish has died in the Badam River in Shymkent due to wastewater.

In Shymkent, a mass fish die-off occurred in the Badam River after wastewater entered due to a sewer pipe burst on the territory of the special economic zone "Ońtústik". Ecologists identified the source of pollution and held "StroyGarant XXI" LLP accountable. According to their data, approximately 902 kg of fish died, and the damage to the state was estimated at 2.3 million tenge.

A school in the Kostanay region has been closed for disinfection due to tuberculosis testing.

In the village of Borovskoye, Kostanay region, the Gabbas Zhumabayev school-gymnasium has been temporarily closed for disinfection after information came to light that a canteen employee had previously undergone treatment for tuberculosis. An inspection of the food supplier, sanitisation procedures, and an epidemiological investigation are being carried out at the educational institution, while students have been temporarily switched to distance learning.

Mother of the participant in the beating of a schoolgirl in Karaganda fined 45,000 tenge

The Juvenile Court of Karaganda has fined one of the 16-year-old participants' mothers 45,413 tenge for the beating of a 13-year-old schoolgirl. The incident occurred on 16 February when a group of teenagers attacked the girl and filmed the event on video. The woman was found guilty of failing to properly fulfil her duties in raising her child.

The ВАП has been granted the right to refuse to recognise audits from ministries in Kazakhstan.

The Supreme Audit Chamber of Kazakhstan has been granted the right to additionally inspect and, if necessary, refuse to recognise the results of internal audits of ministries. The new regulation strengthens external control over departmental checks and may change the procedure for using audit reports in the state financial control system.

Three men have been convicted of illegally hunting roe deer in the Kokshetau National Park.

In the Akmola region, a court with a jury has delivered a guilty verdict in the case of illegal hunting in the territory of the "Kokshetau" state national nature park. Three individuals were found guilty of shooting Siberian roe deer in the park's protection zone. The verdict has entered into legal force.

ANPZ has commented on complaints from residents of Atyrau about the smell and "smoke" above the plant.

Residents of Atyrau have complained about a sharp smell and visually noticeable clouds in the area of the Atyrau oil refinery. At Atyrau Refinery LLP, they stated that there were no pollutant emissions, and the enterprise's laboratory recorded no exceedances of the maximum permissible concentrations. At the same time, environmentalists reported multiple exceedances of hydrogen sulphide concentrations in residential areas of the city.

A resident of Semey set fire to local police officers' cars after being administratively detained

In the Abai region, a criminal case has been opened after two police patrol cars belonging to district inspectors were set on fire. A 66-year-old local resident, previously taken to the police station for appearing in a public place while intoxicated, is suspected of committing the unlawful acts. The man has been detained and placed in a temporary holding facility.
