According to the press service of the Police Department (PD) of the Akmola Region, the accident was recorded on 19 May. A patrol police unit attended the scene.
As the police clarified, at the time of the incident, the child was on the pavement with their mother. Footage that spread on social networks and messengers shows a car driven by a woman driving onto the pavement and hitting the minor.
It is assumed that the driver may have confused the accelerator and brake pedals. This information has not been officially confirmed.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE CHILD'S CONDITION
As a result of the collision, the minor sustained minor injuries. After being examined by medical staff, the child was discharged home.
According to law enforcement authorities, the child's parents declined to make any claims against the driver.
Meanwhile, police officers gathered material regarding the accident. The driver was held accountable in accordance with current legislation.

The incident in Kokshetau occurred a few days after another high-profile road traffic accident, which was also widely discussed on social networks.
On 9 May, in the courtyard of a residential building, a car struck a 52-year-old woman, who later died. According to police information, the driver was a woman who did not have a driving licence and had not undergone training at a driving school.
Regarding the accident, law enforcement authorities opened two criminal cases. An investigation is underway into a violation of traffic rules resulting in the death of a person in relation to the driver. A separate criminal case was opened against the owner of the car — the suspect's spouse.
