A court hearing continues in Almaty regarding a fatal road traffic accident on Al-Farabi Avenue, which resulted in the deaths of three people. During the latest session, relatives of two of the deceased announced a reconciliation with the defendant and asked the court not to impose a custodial sentence.
WHAT HAPPENED AT THE COURT HEARING
During the trial, Alexander Pak fully admitted his guilt. Due to complaints about his health, he participated in the hearing via video link.
The sister of the driver Yelaman Tilemisov — Lazzat Tilemisova — informed the court that the family had reconciled with the defendant and had no further claims against him. She also confirmed a submitted statement requesting that no custodial sentence be imposed.
The mother of the deceased Kumar Teneubayeva — Bakytgul Zholdasova — also stated that she had forgiven the defendant. According to her, the accused had shown remorse, apologised, and fully compensated for both material and moral damages.
The trial continues. The court has not yet issued a verdict in the case.
CONTEXT
The accident occurred on the night of 21 March on Al-Farabi Avenue in Almaty. Three people died as a result of the crash — the driver and two female passengers aged 20 and 22.
According to the investigation, Alexander Pak was driving a Zeekr X while under the influence of alcohol. The investigation claims that the driver crossed into the oncoming lane and collided with a Mercedes vehicle.
