Two orphan brothers in the East Kazakhstan Region have not been paid their survivor's benefit for over two years.

In the Altai district of the East Kazakhstan region (EKR), a minor child under guardianship was not assigned a survivor's pension for more than two years. The violation was uncovered by an inspection by the prosecutor's office, initiated following an appeal from the guardian.

PAYMENTS NOT ASSIGNED FOR MORE THAN TWO YEARS

The inspection was carried out by the prosecutor's office of the Altai district after an appeal from a local resident. She has been the legal representative of the minor since August 2023.

The prosecutor's office established that from the moment guardianship was arranged until January 2026, the child was not assigned or paid the survivor's pension provided for by law.

ARREARS PAID AFTER INSPECTION

Following the inspection, the prosecutor of the Altai district issued an act of prosecutorial response to the authorised body.

After this, the minor schoolchild was paid arrears for the missed period amounting to 575 thousand tenge. A monthly allowance of 46,783 tenge was also assigned to them.

PAYMENTS ALSO ASSIGNED TO ELDER BROTHER

During the inspection, the social rights of his adult brother, who is studying full-time at a college, were also restored.

According to the prosecutor's office, payments are now being monitored, and the rights of the wards have been restored.
