In Karaganda, a juvenile court held the mother of one of the participants in an incident, during which six teenagers beat up a 13-year-old girl and filmed the incident on video, accountable. The woman was found guilty of improper fulfilment of child-rearing duties and was given an administrative fine.

WHAT DECISION DID THE COURT MAKE

According to the court, one of the administrative cases related to this incident has been reviewed, reports ORDA.

The mother of the 16-year-old participant in the conflict was fined 45,413 tenge for improper fulfilment of duties concerning the upbringing, education, and maintenance of a child.

Court documents also state that the woman is already on the police prevention register as a parent who improperly fulfils child-rearing duties.

WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE TEENAGER

According to the court, the daughter of the fined woman:

  • is on the school register;
  • is on the prevention register at the police department.

No other details about the teenager's role in the conflict are specified in the court documents.

HOW MANY CASES ARE BEING REVIEWED AFTER THE INCIDENT

As reported by the police, following the incident, six administrative protocols were drawn up against the parents of the teenagers involved in the beating.

At the time of publication, the court has reviewed only one of these protocols. Information on decisions regarding the other cases is currently unavailable.

It is worth recalling that on 16 February, in the 12th microdistrict of Karaganda, a group of teenagers, according to the victim's mother, beat up a minor girl, while the incident was filmed on video by the participants themselves

The reason for the conflict is not specified in the documents — the girl's mother claims the attack occurred without any prior conflict or provocation. She has sent appeals to the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Presidential Administration, demanding an objective investigation, the seizure of the video recording, and a legal assessment of the actions of the school and educational authorities.
