Two men sustained gunshot wounds in the village of Akshukyr, Mangystau Region. Criminal cases have been opened in connection with the incident, and four suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility (TDF).
WHAT IS KNOWN
According to the Telegram channel “HALYQSTAN”, the shootout occurred in the village of Akshukyr, Mangystau Region. The Mangystau Regional Multidisciplinary Hospital provided an update on the condition of the two victims.
One patient, born in 2001, has been diagnosed with multiple shotgun wounds to the face, neck, and both arms, a penetrating chest wound, and traumatic haemothorax. The second victim, born in 1999, sustained a shotgun wound to the right shin and multiple fractures of the skull.
WHAT CRIMINAL CASES HAVE BEEN OPENED
The Mangystau Regional Police Department (RPD) reported that an investigation is underway under Article 24 and Article 99 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (CC RK) (“Attempted Murder”), Article 293 of the CC RK (“Hooliganism”), and Article 287 of the CC RK (“Illegal possession and transportation of firearms”).
Police also stated that four suspects, who are believed by the investigation to be involved in the shootout, have been placed in the temporary detention facility.
No further information is being disclosed in the interests of the pre-trial investigation.
