In the village of Karakemer, Korday District, Zhambyl Region, the bodies of two ninth-graders were found. A criminal case has been opened into the incident.
WHAT HAPPENED
According to the police department of the Zhambyl Region, the incident occurred on 15 April at around 6:00 a.m. The teenagers' bodies were found in a shed.
Law enforcement authorities opened a criminal case under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (CC RK) ("Incitement to suicide").
"Necessary investigative actions are currently being carried out, aimed at a comprehensive, complete and objective determination of all circumstances surrounding the incident," the police department of the Zhambyl Region reported.
No further information is being disclosed in accordance with Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (CPC RK).
WHAT IS KNOWN SO FAR
According to the Telegram channel "HALYQSTAN", the teenagers were not members of the same family. It is also reported that they did not leave suicide notes.
Villagers note that police officers are questioning neighbours, schoolchildren and teachers to clarify the circumstances of the incident.
OFFICIAL RESPONSE
The situation in the district is under the special supervision of the regional governor (akim), Yerbol Karashukeyev.
On his orders, Deputy Akim Aizhan Yesmagambetova and Head of the Education Department Nurbek Orshubekov arrived at the scene.
