In Uralsk, a 25-year-old police department employee has been detained on suspicion of raping a woman while on duty. A criminal case has been opened against the suspect, and he has been placed in a temporary detention facility (IDF).
WHAT HAPPENED
According to the publication "My City", information appeared on social media that an employee of the Abay Police Department arrived at an apartment following neighbours' complaints about noise. After checking the apartment, he allegedly raped a woman.
The press service of the Uralsk city prosecutor's office confirmed that a criminal case had been opened.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION
The suspect has been placed in a temporary detention facility for 10 days. The investigation is ongoing.
In addition, after the criminal case was opened, the suspect was dismissed from the internal affairs authorities. The police reported that violations of discipline and the law among employees of the internal affairs authorities are unacceptable and will be strictly suppressed.
