In the North Kazakhstan Region (NKR), a local resident discovered several dozen chicks on a rubbish dump that had hatched from discarded eggs. It is believed the eggs may have been thrown away by a poultry farm.
HOW THE DISCOVERY HAPPENED
While unloading rubbish, the man heard chirping and decided to investigate the source of the sound. Among the waste, he found discarded eggs, some of which had already hatched. He published a video of the discovery on the social network TikTok.
"While I was unloading the rubbish, I heard chicks peeping. This is how the poultry farm's waste was disposed of — eggs along with live chicks. The seagulls are already pecking at them here," said the man.
He took the chicks home. Later, the man published another video showing the chicks under a lamp receiving care. He is currently looking after the birds he found himself.
LIKELY ORIGIN OF THE EGGS
In the Kyzylzhar District, where the landfill is located, several poultry farms operate.
Local residents speculate that the eggs may have been discarded by one of them as substandard. Official agencies have not confirmed which specific enterprise might have been involved.
According to local residents' theory, the combination of heat and decomposing waste at the landfill created an incubator effect, allowing some of the eggs to develop and produce offspring.
