In the town of Stepnogorsk, Akmola Region, violations were identified during the construction of the operating unit "G and E" at the multidisciplinary city hospital. Following the inspection, the contract with the contractor was terminated, and the client filed a lawsuit for the return of 80 million tenge.
WHAT THE INSPECTION REVEALED
According to the Prosecutor's Office of the Akmola Region, an inspection was conducted into compliance with legislation during the construction of the medical facility. It was established that the contractor violated construction standards, leading to substandard work.
Unjustified payments of budget funds were also recorded.
"Violations were made possible due to a lack of proper oversight by the technical and design supervision, as well as the client," the statement said.
WHAT MEASURES HAVE BEEN TAKEN
As a result of the prosecutor's intervention, the contract with the contracting organisation was terminated. The client filed a lawsuit in court for the return of 80 million tenge in budget funds.
In addition, two officials from the health department have been subjected to disciplinary action.
WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH THE PROJECT NOW
Currently, measures are being taken to appoint a new contractor. Construction of the operating unit is planned to be completed as soon as possible.
The prosecutor's office notes that issues of legality and effective use of budget funds remain under constant supervision.
