An inspector from the special rapid response unit (SOBR) sustained a gunshot wound in the Korday district of the Zhambyl region and later died in hospital. A criminal case has been opened into the incident.
WHAT HAPPENED
According to the Telegram channel «HALYQSTAN», SOBR inspector N. T., born in 1995, received a gunshot wound in the morning in the corridor of the special rapid response unit barracks at the district police department in the Korday district.
As specified in the publication, the police officer used his service weapon. It is presumably a SIG Sauer pistol.
CONDITION OF THE OFFICER
After the incident, paramedics who arrived rushed the lieutenant to the central district hospital in a serious condition.
However, in the evening, the police officer died in intensive care without regaining consciousness.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE INVESTIGATION
The causes of the incident have not yet been established.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident under the article concerning incitement to suicide.
