Questions about staffing appointments in the healthcare system of the Akmola Region have once again become the subject of public debate. The occasion was a publication that mentions the appointments of heads of the Zerendy District Hospital, the Stepnogorsk City Hospital, and other medical organisations.
WHICH STAFFING DECISIONS HAVE BECOME THE SUBJECT OF DISCUSSION
According to nayza_kokshe, the attention of the publication's authors was drawn to the appointment of the acting chief physician of the Zerendy District Hospital. It is alleged that the former head of the Esil District Hospital, who had previously faced complaints, was appointed to this position.
"He is still remembered there, and not in a good way. The head behaved inappropriately, was known for assault, and owes money to many residents of Esil," the publication states.
The authors also mention that the issue of staffing decisions had previously been raised in connection with the Stepnogorsk City Hospital. The publication claims that the chief physician is a person who was previously imprisoned after being convicted for driving under the influence of alcohol.
WHICH OTHER APPOINTMENTS ARE MENTIONED
The publication also discusses staffing changes at the Krasnoyarka Hospital, the Regional Multidisciplinary Children's Hospital, and the Blood Centre.
The author notes that an employee who previously worked at the private medical organisation "Viamedis" has been appointed acting chief physician of the Krasnoyarka Hospital.
Additionally, the article mentions the appointment of a specialist from the Blood Centre to the regional health department. The publication raises questions about the appropriateness of such staffing decisions.
WHAT THE HEALTH DEPARTMENT SAID IN RESPONSE
The press service of the department reported that staffing appointments for heads of medical organisations are carried out in accordance with the qualification requirements for healthcare worker positions, approved by order of the Minister of Healthcare.
Candidates undergo a competition with the participation of the Supervisory Board, after which their candidacies are coordinated with the Office of the Akim of the Region.
CONTEXT
The Stepnogorsk Multidisciplinary City Hospital is not in the spotlight for the first time.
In 2024, it became known that the institution's accounts payable exceeded 704 million tenge, and regional authorities instructed that the situation be placed under special control. At that time, the health department stated the need to optimise the hospital's work and did not rule out staffing decisions.
Furthermore, the prosecutor's office previously identified violations during the construction of the hospital's operating block, after which the client filed a lawsuit for the return of 80 million tenge, and two officials from the health department were held disciplinarily responsible.
