The Akim of the Akmola Region Marat Akhmetzhanov commented on the appointment of Anuar Kumpekeyev to the position of Akim of Kokshetau.
According to ORDA, while serving as Akim of Pavlodar, Kumpekeyev received strict reprimands for the inefficient use of budget funds.
In 2018, he was punished for purchasing a service apartment worth 49 million tenge, and in 2019, he received a strict reprimand for buying furniture costing 6 million tenge.
Nevertheless, Marat Akhmetzhanov assured that there were no legal obstacles to appointing Anuar Kumpekeyev to the position of Akim.
"He was approved at all levels. His education and professional experience were taken into account during the appointment. He has a good knowledge of the housing and communal services sector, having worked in Stepnogorsk for seven years, four of which as the city's Akim.", said Akhmetzhanov.
The regional Akim stated that Kumpekeyev was appointed to the position in connection with the launch of major projects in the region, such as the construction of a thermal power plant and other engineering structures.
Akhmetzhanov noted that when choosing the candidate, they considered not only his professional qualities but also his readiness to address the challenges facing the city.
