A specialised inter-district juvenile court in the Ulytau region heard a criminal case against a teacher at a local kindergarten.
According to the regional court press service, the defendant was conducting a lesson with the children, during which they were painting with watercolours.
During the lesson, the teacher saw that one of the children, born in 2022, had put paint in his mouth. The defendant then told him off and hit him on the lips with her hand. Furthermore, she hit the child on the back of the head and lifted him from his chair. Then, when she wanted to take the child to wash, she grabbed him by the neck and pushed him forward, causing the child to fall.
At the court hearing, the defendant did not admit guilt, stating that she had indeed lifted the child roughly when he fell, but claimed she had not hit him.
Ultimately, the court found the teacher guilty and sentenced her to 80 hours of community service, and banned her from holding teaching positions and positions involving work with minors for 3 years.
Furthermore, 200,000 tenge was awarded to the child's parents in compensation for moral damages.
Earlier, in the Atyrau region, a private kindergarten teacher was fined for beating a 5-year-old child during a lesson. According to a forensic medical examination, a haematoma was found on the child's right thigh.
