A 29-year-old resident of the Almaty Region, who went missing after leaving for work, has been found dead. Two people have been arrested on suspicion of murder.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE DISAPPEARANCE
According to the police department of the Almaty Region, on 27 May a woman contacted the police in the Uyghur District to report her 29-year-old son missing.
Police reported that the man had left for work and stopped making contact. Following the report, search and investigative operations were organised.
WHERE THE MAN'S BODY WAS FOUND
During the search, police officers discovered the missing man's body not far from the leisure area where he worked.
As reported by the Almaty Region police department, two men, suspected of murder, were quickly apprehended and placed in a temporary detention facility.
THE INVESTIGATION'S VERSION OF EVENTS
According to preliminary information, several men, believed to be employees of the leisure area, had been drinking alcohol. At some point, an argument broke out between them.
The investigation believes the victim was beaten, after which, according to law enforcement's version, the body was concealed near the scene of the incident.
WHAT CRIMINAL CASES HAVE BEEN OPENED
The Almaty Region police department reported that criminal cases have been opened regarding murder and the concealment of a crime.
The two suspects have been arrested. A procedural decision regarding a third man, who was in the company, will be made based on the results of the ongoing investigation.

WHAT RELATIVES REPORTED
Earlier, on the social network Threads, a relative of the deceased published an appeal in which she demanded a full and objective investigation into the incident. At the time of publication, the post was deleted.
