The Ministry of Culture and Information has restricted access to 6,863 online resources containing illegal information for children. Additionally, social media administrators were sent more than 20,000 items to block 869 public pages.
WHAT MEASURES WERE PRESENTED IN THE GOVERNMENT
Measures to protect children and organise summer leisure activities were presented by First Vice-Minister of Culture and Information Kanat Iskakov at a Government meeting. The department, together with other state bodies, developed a media plan consisting of 59 points, aimed at improving child safety during the summer period.
As reported by Iskakov, the ministry has prepared 30 videos on safety issues. These have already been broadcast on national television channels and also sent to regions for screening in public places.
WHAT PROJECTS ARE BEING LAUNCHED IN THE SUMMER
During the summer season, 9 new projects are being launched on Kazakh television channels. They focus on children's digital and financial literacy, as well as the promotion of national culture and sport.
Furthermore, as part of the summer campaign, the ministry is organising more than 1,500 cultural and educational events in museums and theatres. The first national creative camp will also be opened in the Burabay district.
Separately, the authorities announced the temporary employment of young people. The "Zhasyl el" units plan to employ more than 34,000 young people.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE BLOCKING OF ONLINE RESOURCES
According to the First Vice-Minister, monitoring of the internet space and work to restrict the spread of illegal content are being carried out in parallel.
"Since the beginning of the year, in order to protect children from illegal information, access has been restricted to 6,863 online resources containing illegal information for children, and more than 20,000 items have been sent to social media administrators to block 869 public pages," said Kanat Iskakov.
