Minister of Internal Affairs Yerzhan Sadenov presented measures at a government meeting to implement the provisions of the Constitution in the field of law enforcement. One of the key focuses is digitalisation and the introduction of artificial intelligence for crime prevention.

WHERE AI WILL BE USED

As part of the technological upgrade, the Ministry of Internal Affairs plans to launch a National Video Monitoring System using video analytics. Artificial intelligence (AI) will be used to ensure road safety and carry out migration control.

The modernisation programme will also affect duty units in district-level departments. At the same time, the ministry intends to improve the accessibility and quality of public services provided to citizens through digital platforms.

NEW MECHANISMS

The implementation of security measures will be enshrined in the new Law "On Crime Prevention". The main focus will be on early response and strengthening individual preventive work.

Special attention will be paid to:

  • involving the public in law enforcement matters;
  • protecting the rights of minors;
  • supporting victims of domestic violence.

Under the new rules, the Ministry of Internal Affairs will prepare an annual National Report on the state of public safety for submission to the President.
