The Kurultai terminated the powers of six judges of the Supreme Court. At the same session, the deputies also prematurely terminated the powers of Kurultai deputy Tatyana Savelyeva.

WHO LEFT THE SUPREME COURT

The President's submission on the release of the judges was presented by the chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Dmitry Malakhov. The deputies supported it at the plenary session.

The powers were terminated for Marina Borovik, Nurzhan Kaiypzhan, Valery Nozdrin, Madeniyet Omarbekova, Saken Abdolla and Aslan Tukiyev. The matter was considered in accordance with subparagraph 10) of Article 56 of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

WHAT HAPPENED TO THE JUDGES

Saken Abdolla and Aslan Tukiyev were appointed judges of the Constitutional Court by presidential decree of 23 September 2026. In this connection, the Kurultai terminated their powers as judges of the Supreme Court.

At the same time, Marina Borovik, Nurzhan Kaiypzhan, Valery Nozdrin and Madeniyet Omarbekova ceased working at the Supreme Court in connection with their retirement with honour.

WHO LEFT THE KURULTAI

At the same plenary session, the deputies unanimously supported the premature termination of the powers of Tatyana Savelyeva. Her application was received by the Central Election Commission on 6 October 2026.

The reasons for Savelyeva's departure and her future plans have not been specified. She had worked in the new composition of the Kurultai since August 2026. From 2016 to 2023, Savelyeva held the position of Vice Minister of Finance.
