President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has appointed Yerlan Sarsembayev to the post of Minister of Justice. From January 2023 until today, the department was headed by Azamat Yeskarayev.
It has become known that from 2011 to 2016, Sarsembayev worked in the national security bodies of the Republic of Kazakhstan, where he held the posts of deputy head and head of the legal department of the NSC of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2016 to 2022, he worked in the apparatus of the Senate of Parliament in leadership positions: head of the department for interaction with the committee on socio-cultural development and science of the apparatus, deputy head of the apparatus, and head of the department for interaction with the committee on international relations, defence and security of the apparatus.
From January 2023 until his appointment as minister, Yerlan Sarsembayev was a judge of the Constitutional Court.
