Трубу теплосети прорвало в Караганде во время гидравлических испытаний

In the “Sortirovka” area of Karaganda, a major pipe burst occurred during hydraulic testing of the heating networks.

WHAT HAPPENED

Video from the scene appeared on the Instagram account @sortirovka_official. The footage shows water gushing upwards under high pressure.

“The fountain of water rose to roughly the height of a 3–4 storey building. The pressure is absolutely insane; it looks very unusual from the outside,” the publication states.

WHAT “TEPLOTRANZIT” SAID

According to Teplotranzit Karaganda LLP, the burst occurred during the annual hydraulic testing of main and intra-district heating networks.

The company confirmed the emergency water discharge and reported that the damaged section has already been isolated, and the identified defect will be included in the repair plan and fixed in accordance with established procedures.

WHY HYDRAULIC TESTS ARE CARRIED OUT

Teplotranzit Karaganda LLP explained that hydraulic tests are conducted annually to identify weak points in the heating networks before the heating season. Such checks help prevent emergency situations in winter.

Specialists also warned that water discharges and steam formation may occur during the tests. Residents were asked to take precautions and not leave cars near the heating networks.

CONTEXT

A similar incident occurred on 27 April in Zhanaozen at the Ozenmunaigas JSC facility. At that time, a defect in a pipeline with a diameter of 1020 mm at sea pumping station No. 4 also caused a powerful water discharge.

The company reported that there were no casualties, and the system was switched to a backup line until repairs were completed.
