Chairman of the Board of JSC "NC "Kazakhstan Temir Zholy" (KTZ) Talgat Aldybergenov confirmed that he owns his own business and stated that his family members' activities in the logistics sector do not create a conflict of interest with the national carrier. He made this statement during a briefing at the government, responding to journalists' questions about the family's commercial assets.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE BUSINESS OF THE KTZ CHAIRMAN'S FAMILY
During the briefing at the government, journalists noted that Talgat Aldybergenov's wife — Elmira Aldybergenova — owns the companies "Berkut Logistic", "Iglyk", and "RTD Portakom", and his son Dauren Aldybergenov previously headed a branch of a subsidiary of the railway holding company. It was also noted that the brother of the KTZ chairman worked in this sector.
The journalists' questions concerned possible affiliation and the existence of a conflict of interest due to the fact that the relatives of the head of the national carrier are involved in the railway and logistics industries.
WHAT TALGAT ALDYBERGENOV REPLIED
Answering the questions, Talgat Aldybergenov confirmed that he is the founder of LLP "ASTANATRANSEXPRESS".
"It is true that I am the founder of this company. This company, in accordance with the Law on Civil Servants, has been transferred to management," he said.
According to the head of KTZ, the company does not cooperate with either government agencies or the national carrier itself. He also stated that he is not involved in managing the business, as this is handled by a management company.
Furthermore, Aldybergenov noted that companies associated with his family do not work with government bodies and do not interact with KTZ.
"There is no conflict of interest anywhere; everything is declared within the framework of the law," stated the Chairman of the Board of KTZ.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE COMPANIES' INCOMES
Separately, journalists inquired about the financial performance of the Aldybergenov family's companies. According to journalist Zhaniya Urankayeva, the total income of these enterprises in 2025 amounted to 6.3 billion tenge.
In response, the head of KTZ stated that information on incomes and assets is published and declared in accordance with legal requirements.
WHY THE KTZ CHAIRMAN DID NOT SEE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST
During the briefing, the journalist also drew a parallel with situations where the existence of a family business in the same industry had previously become the subject of debate over a possible conflict of interest.
In response, Talgat Aldybergenov stated that his children and wife do not work within the structure of the national carrier, so he sees no grounds for such claims.
"My relatives — neither my children nor my wife — work for KTZ, so I do not see a conflict of interest," he emphasised.
