Information has emerged regarding the detention of the director of the Almaty branch of JSC «KazTemirTrans», Akylbek Bazenov. According to sources, he may have been detained while receiving a large bribe. No official confirmation from state authorities had been received at the time of publication.
WHAT IS KNOWN ABOUT THE ALLEGED DETENTION
According to Polites News, information reached the editorial office about the detention of the director of the Almaty branch of JSC «KazTemirTrans», Akylbek Myrzabekuly Bazenov.
It is reported that officers of the Department of the National Security Committee for the city of Almaty (DNSC) may have detained him while receiving a bribe of around 540 million tenge.
According to preliminary information, the detention occurred red-handed at the «Livera» restaurant in Almaty.
Sources claim that the money may have been handed over to resolve issues related to the company branch's activities. According to available information, it may have concerned assistance in obtaining permission for a private security company to service JSC «KazTemirTrans» facilities within the Republic of Kazakhstan.
However, official details of the possible investigation and the legal status of the individual involved have not been clarified at this time.

The company commented on the information regarding the detention.
«JSC «KazTemirTrans» confirms that investigative measures are currently being carried out by the competent law enforcement authorities. The company is providing full assistance to the authorised bodies and is supplying all necessary information and documents within the framework of the ongoing investigation», the company's press office reported.
The company also stated that the disseminated information about receiving a large illegal monetary reward for assistance in winning state procurement contracts for the protection of the branch's facilities raises doubts.
According to the company, all procedures for concluding contracts with security organisations have already been completed. As the company clarified, the total budget of JSC «KazTemirTrans» for security services amounts to around 200 million tenge, and for the Almaty branch, more than 9 million tenge has been allocated for the protection of production bases this year.
