AFM AI Hackathon 2026

A major hackathon will be held in Almaty, where IT specialists will develop digital tools to combat financial crime.

EVENT DETAILS

The Financial Monitoring Agency (AFM) together with Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (KazNU) invites IT specialists, analysts, developers and experts in the field of artificial intelligence to take part in the "AFM AI Hackathon 2026" - a competition for innovative solutions in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and data analytics.

The event will take place on 24–25 June 2026 at Farabi Hub (Almaty).

THREE COMPETITION TRACKS

Participants will work across three tracks:

  • Digital Shadow – monitoring the dark web and collecting data from open sources (OSINT);
  • AI Shield – developing artificial intelligence algorithms to protect databases and ensure cybersecurity;
  • AI Media Watch – detecting signs of illegal gambling and financial pyramids on social networks.

GOAL - REAL DIGITAL SOLUTIONS

The hackathon is held as part of the implementation of the "Law and Order" principle and aims to create advanced tools for countering economic and financial crime.

According to the organisers' plan, the participants' developments should find practical application in the work of the agency.

Registration is available on the website www.qmahackaton.kz
