A wild boar was illegally shot dead by a villager from the EKR.

Police officers in the Kurchum district have detained a 46-year-old resident of the Glubokoye district, who shot a wild boar without the appropriate documents.

According to Polisia.kz, law enforcement officers seized physical evidence from the scene: an unregistered smoothbore IZH-5 rifle, cartridges, and the boar carcass. The damage exceeded 1 million tenge

In connection with this incident, a criminal case has been opened against the suspect under Article 337, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, “Illegal hunting.” The penalty for this offence carries a sentence of up to three years in prison.

Recall that in September, law enforcement officers stopped a car near the village of Karabutak. Inside the vehicle, they discovered bags of meat. The man behind the wheel explained that the bags contained the meat of five saiga antelopes, which he claimed to have hit with his motorcycle in the steppe on the territory of the Irgyz district. The preliminary damage was estimated at 20 million tenge.
