What payments will war veterans receive for Victory Day

To mark the 79th anniversary of Victory, the state plans to make significant payments to veterans depending on their region of residence

As reported by informburo.kz, this year the amount of the benefit varies from 1.5 million to 3 million tenge across different regions of the country. 

How many front-line veterans will receive payments? 

  • Almaty: 44 veterans;
  • Kostanay Region: 14 veterans; 
  • East Kazakhstan Region: 14 veterans; 
  • West Kazakhstan Region: 14 veterans;
  • Karaganda Region: 12 veterans; 
  • Turkistan Region: 11 veterans; 
  • Zhambyl Region: 10 veterans; 
  • Almaty Region: 7 veterans;
  • Astana: 7 veterans;
  • Pavlodar Region: 7 veterans; 
  • Akmola Region: 6 veterans; 
  • Kyzylorda Region: 4 veterans; 
  • Zhetysu Region: 4 veterans;
  • North Kazakhstan Region: 4 veterans; 
  • Mangystau Region: 2 veterans;
  • Aktobe Region: 1 veteran;
  • Atyrau Region: no veterans;
  • Ulytau Region: no veterans. 

In addition, benefits will be received by those awarded orders and medals of the USSR for selfless labour and flawless service on the home front, veterans of combat operations on the territory of other states, as well as persons equated by benefits to war veterans. 

In some regions, particularly in the capital, payments will be increased twofold compared to last year. Nevertheless, it remains a mystery why the size of the benefit, and consequently the level of gratitude from the state for their service, depends on the place of residence
